Description

KG Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Claims Manager to lead, develop, and oversee the operations of claims, managed care activities, and risk management alliances and staff. The Claims Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a high degree of client satisfaction and team development.

Required skills, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare field required, master’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in workers’ compensation, general liability, and medical malpractice insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare (provider-side) industry - insurance, risk, and claims.
  • Five (5) years of management or supervisory experience.
  • South Carolina Workers Compensation Adjuster License, South Carolina Producer/ Agent License, and/or South Carolina Surplus Lines Broker License (must hold at least one of these and be willing/able to obtain any of these not currently held).
  • Influential leadership style with proven abilities to adapt to change, drive consensus, and develop high-performance teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (travel requirement is suspended during the pandemic).

Primary duties:

  • Manage workers’ compensation and liability teams that investigate, evaluate, adjudicate, and resolve claims.
  • Oversee risk management functions; assess and implement mitigation strategies for highest loss categories for program members in workers’ compensation and liability, including medical malpractice groups.
  • Lead and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and foster critical thinking, operational efficiency, and innovation.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and approve claims reserves, settlements, and payments within authority limits.
  • Develop and maintain programs to define customer requirements and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Analyze, identify, and resolve service issues.
  • Manage and foster strong working relationships with vendors, internal staff, and customers.
  • Participate in strategic conversations to help anticipate and identify potential risks and coordinate risk management efforts to appropriately address the same.
  • Support marketing and sales efforts on behalf of Workers’ Compensation and Liability Programs.
  • Ensure retention and renewal of existing accounts.

Location: The Claims Manager will work in Columbia, SC (onsite)
