KG Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Director of Philanthropy to manage the marketing, grant, advocacy, and philanthropy staff of a growing nonprofit. The Director of Philanthropy will oversee donor gift programs and processes and focus on a high-net-worth individual gifting portfolio. Working closely with the VP of Philanthropy, the Director will help turn the VP’s and organization’s visions into reality with efficient, compliant, and revenue-generating processes and programs. This position must manage multiple lines of direct reports simultaneously while constantly looking for inefficiencies, waste, unintended outcomes and always meeting established metrics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the qualification process of prospective and current donors.
  • Create and manage fund development processes and procedures for all lines of philanthropic revenue.
  • Create individual goals for each team member based on their team’s financial goals and donor portfolios.
  • Oversee the organization and implementation of fundraising opportunities and events for the organization.
  • Operationalize, implement, track, and follow up on annual, sponsorship, planned giving, and other giving campaigns.
  • Solicit high-net-worth potential and current donors to nurture their interest in the organization and its mission.
  • Manage monthly reporting and financial recording.
  • Manage, update, track, and monitor the master philanthropic giving calendar.
  • Organize and manage leadership, empowering solution-focused vision for the philanthropic gifts team to meet their fundraising and development systems goals.
  • Operationalize the grants vetting and management processes and standardize reporting and grants acquisition processes.
  • Oversee branding and marketing across all social media platforms.
  • Operationalize metrics for marketing and advocacy teams.
  • Passionately represent the organization’s mission, programs, and message with stakeholders and actively network within the community to advocate for the nonprofit.
  • Serve as a community ambassador/spokesperson as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, in a related field.
  • 10+ years of nonprofit development experience, or closely related experience.
  • Proven success leading a diverse staff and managing, preferably in a complex multi-site system.
  • Proven record of successfully increasing a fundraising organization’s performance and cultivating six and seven-figure gifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to build trust, gain respect, and develop meaningful relationships with donors and prospects, board members, administrators, volunteers, agencies, and clients.
  • Unique capability as a team leader to attract, develop, and retain a cohesive and exceptionally high-caliber team.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to evaluate existing programs, recommend improvements and implement new programs and strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and group facilitation skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License (some travel may be required).
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed, for special projects, events, and mission-driven initiatives.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office setting. The position requires sitting at a desk and in meetings for long periods of time and involves extensive computer work with frequent interruptions. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position will regularly be in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, both hot and cold. This position requires someone who is mobile and who can hear and watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. This position may require traveling during the day and responding to organizational needs outside of normal working hours.
