KG Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Functional / Technical Writer to support a large financial client in Columbia, SC. The Functional / Technical Writer will analyze business methodologies and data processes and procedures to understand, document, and operationalize new processes, procedures, and capability requirements. The Writer will review documents, compile additions, resolve incompatible comments, and finalize publishable documentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally to produce and maintain Operational Guides, Risk and Control Manuals, code, and platform documentation.
  • Participate in activities related to data governance, data strategy implementation, data modeling, risk assessment, data challenges, data manipulation, and/or requirement elicitation.
  • Build and maintain information management documentation and client aids that support end-to-end lifecycle documentation.
  • Edit, manage and maintain communications documents, including presentations and minutes.
  • Independently gather information to develop, organize, and write standards, procedure manuals, technical specifications, and technical process documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate aligning of documentation and processes with learning and development content.
  • Support the extension, creation, and refining of the Data Governance Program standards, procedures, and processes to through scorecards and status reports.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of information terminology and documentation.
  • Assist with the design and maintenance of process maps for data flow and integration.
  • Assist in developing risk, audit, and compliance responses.
  • Ensure data management artifacts are maintained and requests are monitored and tracked; ensure compliance of artifacts with the data governance practices.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience reading and translating complex technical concepts into consumable written guidance.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with data management processes, metadata management, data stewardship, and data quality strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of basic database structures and SQL.
  • Ability to examine data, data models, and business processes.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
  • Ability to work onsite in Columbia, SC; OR, work remotely with occasional travel to Columbia, SC as needed.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Word and PowerPoint.
