Title: Product Delivery Owner

Location: Columbia, SC

Hybrid preferred, may consider remote within the state of SC.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Product Delivery Owner works closely with other departments and leaders to execute and achieve software/solutions/services delivery commitments.  The Product Deliver Owner will work closely with colleagues to share experiences and best practices to enhance the Center of Excellence.  The Product Deliver Owner will be responsible for building and managing a backlog, defining requirements, writing user stories, and producing release notes.

Product Strategy Leadership & Delivery

  • Oversees and prioritizes backlog and the delivery of work while addressing and elevating issues when necessary.
  • Ensures the team has a well-defined backlog of valuable work.
  • Helps prioritize initiatives and sprint releases.
  • Removes obstacles and roadblocks that impact the performance of the team.
  • Collaborates to translate business strategy or roadmaps into backlog items.
  • Ensures Agile team(s) apply the best software engineering practices including, but not limited to test-driven development, peer reviews, continuous integration and deployment practices, unit and regression test automation, comprehensive approach to addressing NFR, adherence to standards, comprehensive ‘definition of done,’ team retrospectives, etc.
  • Benchmark against industry standards to keep service delivery and support at an appropriate cost for infrastructure and operations teams.
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder; promotes same within the team.
  • Uses metrics and tools to understand team performance and efficiency; takes actions to improve the efficiency of the team.
  • Works with their manager to ensure strong and diverse talent is in place to meet business needs and goals.
  • Identifies and addresses team skills gaps that may impact ability to meet business needs.
  • Reviews (in collaboration) the operation and effectiveness of resourcing programs and contributes ideas for changes and improvements as appropriate.
  • May serve in a Scrum or Kanban Master role.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging technology trends and identifies opportunities where technology might be deployed to deliver business improvements and competitive advantage.
  • Reinforces agile values by focusing on the highest business value items.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred plus at least five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and software development processes and methodologies.
  • Previous experience as a product delivery owner or a very comparable role is required.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

This is a long-term W2 contract requiring work from within the State of South Carolina. Competitive hourly rate, collaborative team, unique projects, and a great office environment when onsite.
