KG Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a remote Technical Writer to assist with understanding, documenting, and operationalizing new processes, procedures, or system changes/code. The Technical Writer will meet with cross-functional leaders and staff to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and publish documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Edit communication documents, SOPs, white papers, risk control manuals, training course content, operational guides, and other technical documents for the functional area.
  • Organize and prepare information and data for use in a wide variety of complex technical publications.
  • Collaborate with end-users and/or directly review code and specs to gather information and create related written technical specifications, narratives, and documents.
  • Maintain consistently high standards and quality for technical, Metadata, information lifecycle, and architectural documents.
  • Partner with stakeholders and technical system owners to determine and optimize how data is collected, stored, secured, and curated, and provide valuable insights.
  • Support the creation and refinement of Data Governance Program standards and processes to promote data accountability, validate compliance, and track data governance effectiveness through scorecards and status reports.
  • Build and maintain metadata management documentation and client aids that support end-to-end lifecycle documentation and the ongoing maintenance and management of the documents and the data assets.
  • Gather customer feedback on documentation to improve usability.
  • Work with development, application, data warehouse, and product leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit as needed, for information management and governance.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation. Help write narratives for and maintain systems maps that represent data flows and integration.
  • Participate in technical and business data process modeling sessions and documentation.
  • Assist in driving Office of Data Management initiatives towards implementing data governance.
  • Function as a knowledge management specialist.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Senior technical writing and business analysis experience equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of metadata.
  • Ability to read and interpret code.
  • Data governance experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and allied fields are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work for any employer in the US without current or future sponsorship.
  • Ability to work EST/EDT standard business hours.
