As an Underwriter II supporting a fast-paced, growing institution, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following primary duties:

• Underwriting, reviewing, and approving loans to clear underwriting conditions within guidelines
• Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of loan requests and related documentation to help the bank and customers achieve their purchase/lending goals
• Corresponding with processors to obtain necessary documentation to complete the underwriting decision process
• Effectively communicating with bank staff, Fannie Mae, mortgage insurers, and other stakeholders to clarify underwriting audit exceptions and ensure accurate and timely completion of underwriting

What will you need to be successful as an Underwriter II? Below are the minimum requirements:

• Associate degree in business, finance, or another related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Three (3) years’ experience in residential mortgage underwriting
• Thorough knowledge of Fannie Mae, Farmer Mac, and private mortgage insurance products, underwriting standards and guidelines
• Working knowledge of industry-standard mortgage origination, processing, and closing software
• Specific knowledge of RESPA, TIL and Integrated Disclosure guidelines
• Excellent follow-up, problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work standing business hours (east coast)

The focus of this specialized, technically oriented position is on meeting and exceeding high standards of accuracy and quality. This role will support a well-established lending environment in a company with more than 90,000 customers, $32B in assets, and 2500+ employees. You could be the next addition to this growing team.

This position will initially be a long-term contract with KG Workforce Solutions. Based on performance, permanent employment with the end client is anticipated. Work authorization for any employer in the U.S. is required. Sorry, sponsorship/visa transfer is not available.
