KG Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Vice President of Philanthropy to cultivate relationships and generate resources supporting key mission initiatives. The leader will also oversee affiliated departments and collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors in goal setting, communications strategies, financial reporting, and performance monitoring. The position provides significant direction in capital campaign feasibility and brand awareness in multiple communities across South Carolina.

Primary Responsibilities of the VP of Philanthropy:

  • Provide leadership and coordination of philanthropy activities, earning support from executives, board members, political leaders, partners, and community leaders.
  • Define the strategy and tactics related to philanthropy that aligns with the organization’s core mission.
  • Lead the organization’s marketing team to steer strategic brand management, review budgets, set goals, design metric-driven processes, conduct market research, and help maintain an appropriate brand image.
  • Develop and define goals and objectives for fundraising at the system level.
  •  Implements campaigns, development techniques, and department policies to achieve goals.
  • Grow sourcing and acquisition team to increase resources in a measured and metric-driven process ensuring the end-to-end growth is sustainable.
  • Provide direct support to all donors including contracting, CRM, technical support and training, digital platforms, direct client programs, and vendor management.
  • Operationalize an effective grants team to support research and program development endeavors.
  • Ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met or exceeded while providing responsive service levels.
  • Design, advance, and coordinate a robust corporate partnerships program, linking institutional and corporate partners with key initiatives.
  • Assure that all fundraising activities achieve established goals.
  • Provide leadership to planned giving efforts, investments in human capital, and achievement of advocacy fundraising goals.
  • Ensure alignment between community investment and philanthropy practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications of the VP of Philanthropy:

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, in a related field.
  • 15+ years of fundraising experience.
  • Proven success leading a diverse staff and managing all aspects of principal, major, planned, annual, capital, endowment, and event fundraising programs, preferably in a complex multi-site system.
  • Proven record of successfully increasing a fundraising organization’s performance, including the execution of successful capital campaigns.
  • Knowledge of inventory-based services is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  •  Ability to build trust, gain respect, and develop meaningful relationships with donors and prospects, board members, administrators, volunteers, agencies, and clients.
  • Unique capability as a team leader to attract, develop, and retain a cohesive and exceptionally high-caliber team.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to evaluate existing programs, as well as conceive and implement new programs and strategies.
  • Proven success at working within complex integrated organizations to achieve internal consensus about the importance of philanthropy and agency growth resulting in collaborative efforts for both. Project management experience or the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and group facilitation skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License (some travel may be required).
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed, for special projects, events, and mission-driven initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Agile Project Management, or Scrum Master certifications preferred.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office setting. The position requires sitting at a desk and in meetings for long periods of time and involves extensive computer work with frequent interruptions. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position will regularly be in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, both hot and cold. This position requires someone who is mobile and who can hear and watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. This position may require traveling during the day and responding to organizational needs outside of normal working hours.
